Chris Reeve Knives was founded in January 1984, with Chris Reeve making custom knives in the single garage connected to the house in which Reeve was living in Durban, South Africa. Later on, He moved to the USA and expanded his business and now headquarters in Boise, Idaho.

The company designs, manufacture, and sells folding pocket knives and fixed-blade knives. Chris Reeve Knives has made extensive contributions to the knife world, including the industry-standard Reeve Integral Lock™ (known as “frame-lock”). The Company worked closely with Crucible Industries and played an essential role in generating CPM S30V, S35VN, and S45VN; powdered blade steels formed especially for edge-retention toughness and corrosion resistance.

DESCRIPTION

The CHRIS REEVES MNA-1118 MNANDI is the benchmark of high-end production gentleman’s knives. Precision fit and finish along with top-of-the-line materials make this compact folder an ideal dress or gentleman’s carry knife. This version comes with a Nichols Stainless Boomerang pattern Damascus steel blade with new chamfered thru-nick and two-tone titanium handles with Box Elder burl inlays.

Blade: Stunning Nichols stainless Damascus and a crowned spine give the Mnandi a handsome, striking look while the shallow hollow grind offers exceptional slicing performance. Chamfered thru-nick blade hole allows for quick, two-hand access to the blade with buttery smooth action thanks to oversize phosphor bronze washers at the pivot and very tight tolerances. One hand operation is a definite possibility.

Handle: Warm and striking Box Elder burl wood scales have been inlaid into the front and back of the satin polished titanium handle flats while the edges and lock bar are ultra-fine bead blasted matte gray for contrast and feel. Stabilized Box Elder burl wood delivers a stunning look with unique burl figuring in warm, yellow-gold tones. Fit and finish on this timeless classic is outstanding while the Reeve Integral Frame Lock delivers smooth operation and rock solid lock up for secure use.

Nichols Stainless Damascus: Stainless Damascus offers the performance of a modern stainless steel while delivering a unique look from the pattern welded layers and acid etched finish. Available in multiple patterns, stainless Damascus gives a knife a striking and singular look. Nichols Damascus is composed of AEB-L and 304 delivering excellent corrosion resistance and toughness with good hardness for edge retention.
